Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Saga Shelf mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). By downloading or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Your account

You may use Saga Shelf without signing in to browse and read free content, but an account is required to purchase tokens and unlock paid chapters. You are responsible for keeping your Apple account credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab.

Content and intellectual property

All stories, covers, and other content made available through the Service are the property of the authors or their licensors and are protected by copyright. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to read purchased content for your own enjoyment. You may not copy, redistribute, repost, sell, or share the content outside of the Service, or use it to train machine-learning models, without prior written permission.

Acceptable use

When using Saga Shelf, you agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise try to extract source code or server data from the Service.
• Attempt to bypass the token system, our DRM, or any other access controls.
• Scrape or bulk-download chapter content.
• Use the Service to distribute malware, spam, or unlawful content.
• Submit false information through the contact form or abuse support channels.

Tokens and purchases

Tokens are a virtual in-app currency used to unlock chapters. Tokens:

• Are sold as consumable in-app purchases via Apple's StoreKit; Apple's Media Services Terms apply to the transaction.
• Have no monetary value outside of the Service and cannot be redeemed for cash.
• Are non-transferable between accounts.
• Are non-refundable once spent on unlocking a chapter, except where required by law. Refund requests for unspent token packages should be directed to Apple.
• Bonus tokens (awarded on larger packages or through promotions) are spent before purchased tokens when you unlock a chapter.

We may adjust token pricing and chapter costs over time as stories are added, removed, or repriced.

Availability and changes

We strive to keep the Service available and functioning well, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, or remove features, stories, or chapters; suspend accounts that violate these Terms; or discontinue the Service in its entirety. If we permanently shut down the Service, we'll do our best to give you notice in advance and, where possible, a way to access content you've already unlocked.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Saga Shelf and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Meaningful changes will be announced in the app or via email. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
