This Privacy Policy explains what information Saga Shelf ("we", "us") collects when you use the Saga Shelf mobile app and the companion website at sagashelf.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little information as we need to run the service, and we don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
When you sign in with Apple, Apple sends us an identity token that identifies your account. We store a stable identifier for your account, along with the name and email address you share with us during sign-in. You can use Apple's "Hide My Email" option; we never see your real address in that case.
To keep your progress in sync and to keep your purchased chapters available across devices, we store:
When you purchase tokens, Apple processes the transaction and we receive a transaction identifier and product identifier from StoreKit. We use these to credit tokens to your account. We never see your payment information — Apple handles that.
Your token balance, bonus balance, and transaction history are stored on our servers so they remain available across devices and reinstalls.
Our servers automatically log basic request metadata (IP address, timestamp, endpoint, user agent) for security and debugging. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to build a profile of you.
If you use the contact form on this website, we receive the name, email, subject, and message you submit, along with a reCAPTCHA v3 score from Google that helps us filter spam. Google's use of this information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Some data is stored only on your device — for example, offline-downloaded chapter content, cached cover images, and local reader settings. This local data is managed by iOS using Apple's Core Data framework. When you sign in, your account data and token balance are synchronized with our servers, which are hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
We do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account). This permanently removes your account, library state, token balance, and associated data from our servers. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it; contact us via the Support page and we'll work with you.
Saga Shelf is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll give you a heads up in the app.
